travelmacri helps you decide where to travel, plan trips and keep a record of where you've been. This page says what we collect, why, who handles it for us, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools in the app or on this website.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, and the ID Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them. Your handle (@name) and, if you add one, your profile photo.
- What you put in the app: your maps and the places on them, visit dates, nights, where you're staying, journeys and booking details you type in, notes, place photos, flights, saved searches, your annual leave and the place you choose for public holidays, and your home airport.
- Travelling companions: the names you give them and the countries of their passports. We never ask for passport numbers.
- Trip reports: the Reviews, Summaries and Estimates you ask for, kept so you can open them again.
- Purchases: the App Store transaction and the plan it bought. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
- Usage needed to run the service: how many AI requests (“hops”) you've used this month, what each one cost us, and the reports or suggestions you send us.
Why we use it
To provide the app: to sign you in, store what you add, show it back to you on your devices, apply your plan's limits, answer your requests, and fix problems. We use your email to send sign-in codes and, if you ask for it, notices about your account.
Who handles it for us
- Supabase stores the app's data, and Vercel runs the website and the app's servers.
- Anthropic (Claude) answers the AI features. When you use the Trip chat or ask for a Review, Summary or Estimate, the details of that trip are sent to it to write the answer. Looking up public holidays sends only the place, never anything about you.
- Resend sends our emails, such as sign-in codes.
- Apple and Google, if you sign in with them, and Apple for purchases.
- Nager.Date, an open public-holiday service, is asked for a country's holidays; nothing about you is sent.
These providers may store data outside Australia. They handle it only to provide their service to us.
What other people see
Nothing, unless you share it. If you share a map with another member, they see that map (and, if you choose, its bookings, notes and trip reports) with your first name and handle. If you make a public link to your travel map, anyone with the link can see that map, and your first name only if you choose to show it.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. A map you delete waits in the bin for 14 days, then goes for good. When you delete your account (Your details in the app, or Settings on the website), we delete your account and everything in it straight away. We keep only our record of what the service cost us, with your account removed from it.
Your choices
- See and change your details in the app at any time.
- Delete anything you've added, or your whole account.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or to correct it, using the contact below.
Children
travelmacri is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Contact
Questions or requests about your data: use “Tell us” in the app, or “Suggest an idea” on the website. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If we change what we collect or who handles it, we'll update this page and its date, and tell you in the app when it matters.
